On August 21, 2008, Gospel Light kicked off our third annual Back to School Revivals. Our special guest speaker for the revivals was Presbyter Brian McDonald of Good Tidings Assembly of God in Corpus Christi, Texas. Pastor McDonald is a well-known preacher and evangelist, participating in youth camps, church plants and evangelistic events around the country and around the world. We are blessed and proud to be able to call him our brother.

Although the main focus of our revivals is the youth of our community, Gospel Light reaches out to everybody. On the night before the meetings began, the congregation met to walk the neighborhoods around the church, knocking on doors, sharing the Good News of Christ, and inviting young and old to come to the revivals.

Each of the four services offered something different. There were special songs, drama, choirs, and testamonies. During the week, we were blessed by various area youth groups, the choir from Pivot Ministries and our own gospel choir, Send Judah First.

Many guests came to Gospel Light to hear the Word of God, and through the preaching of Pastor MacDonald, and by the moving of the Holy Spirit, many people received Jesus, many were healed, many received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As well, all who heard the Word were refreshed and renewed. We are already planning our next Back to School Revival for August, 2009. Be sure to keep you calendars clear to attend!
